Yahoogroups.com does not support email addresses "info@domain"

Problem: Yahoogroups.com, the free mailing list service by Yahoo, does not permit email addresses where the local part of the name is info, e.g. info@example.com. If you subscribed to a list using such a name, you may have been unsubcribed by the mail system. If you try to subscribe, you will be told that info@yourdomain.com is not an email address (which is nonsense, of course).

Solution:
Currently there is no way to overcome this limitation directly. We don't know why Yahoogroups rejects such perfectly legitimate names.

However, you can work around the issue by using a mail forwarding service:

  1. Create a mailbox with a service such as GMX.
  2. Set it up to forward all incoming mail to your info-mailbox.
  3. Subscribe the GMX-address to the yahoogroups mailing list.
